After graduating from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, Dr. Michael Port completed his surgical internship at the University of California, Irvine. He then returned to Mount Sinai for his residency in anesthesia. He completed a Fellowship in pain medicine at The University of Southern California LAC/USC Medical Center serving as a clinical instructor in anesthesiology while training in the medical and interventional management of acute and chronic pain, including treatment of cancer pain at The Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Port is a member of the California Society of Anesthesia, the North American Spine Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Association for the Study of Pain, and the International Spine Injection Society. He is an advanced trauma life support instructor as well as the medical advisor and active flight physician with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Emergency Services Detail/Air Five search and rescue team. He currently holds the position of medical director at D.I.S.C. and is board certified by both the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine.
