A graduate of Harvard University, Dr.Kay completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA and his fellowship in shoulder surgery at the university of Texas Health Sciences Center, San Antonio. Since returning to Los Angeles, he has remained in private orthopedic practice while continuing to teach medical students as an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at UCLA. He has served as not only Chief of Orthopedic Surgery but also Chief of Staff at Century City Hospital.

Author of numerous articles published in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals, Dr. Kay has also written two book chapters about the shoulder. He is currently one of approximately 350 members of the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, a select group of orthopedists with special training regarding the diagnoses and treatment of shoulder problems.

Dr. Kay continues to practice general orthopedics, sub specializing in shoulders. His experience as a U.S.V.B.A National Champion and two-time A.A.U. national Champion Volleyball player gives him a unique perspective in treating patients with athletic injuries.
