Dr. Vivek Babaria in The Wall Street Journal

Although it’s common for people to spend their days hunched over their phones or laptops, more young patients are developing arthritis as a result of poor posture, or “tech neck,” Dr. Barbaria told The Post.

The author attempted to cure her neck pain with a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) unit you control with a mobile app, but after a few hours, their neck pain returned. Dr. Barbaria said to truly solve the problem, the cause of the pain would need to be addressed — from investing in a more ergonomic work setup, taking more frequent screen breaks, and looking into physical therapy. Dr. William Workman in US News

U.S. News & World Report asked board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine expert Dr. William B. Workman, to offer his insights into the benefits of using a foam roller, how to use them, and their efficacy.

When buying a foam roller, make sure to consider what size and shape will be most suitable for your needs, the density or firmness of the roller to reach those deeper knots, or whether you want even pressure from a smooth roller or knobby rollers to target specific pressure points. Dr. William Workman in Women's Health

Shin splints, also known as medial tibial stress syndrome, is a general term for pain in the shins, which can be caused by repetitive impact activity like running and jumping, Dr. Workman told Women’s Health.

Wearing poorly fitted or worn-out shoes can contribute to abnormal loads on the shins, so it’s important to ensure you’re wearing the correct running sneakers, he said. Shoes with proper stability are especially important if your foot collapses inward, and cushioning is key for supporting your gait and adding extra comfort to your stride. Read the article here.
