Neurosurgeon Dr. Amir Vokshoor was recently on Al Jazeera America, discussing head and brain injuries.   Dr. Vokshoor talks about 13-year-old Jahi McMath, who was declared brain dead after getting her tonsils removed and placed on life support.  He also spoke about Formula One champion Michael Schumacher, who remains in a medically induced coma after he hit his head while skiing.    Dr. Vokshoor explains the difference when a person is declared brain dead versus being in a coma, as well as the treatment and prognosis of injuries to the brain.
