"Increasingly, outpatient facilities are adding chronic pain management service lines to their offerings. If you're interested in starting a program, here's how to establish a foundation for success:

1. 1. **Specialized providers. **Have at least one board-certified pain physician on staff – and ideally more.
     2. **Multidisciplinary collaboration. **Pain is a dynamic and ever-changing phenomenon that requires multiple providers working closely together to best serve the patient.
     3. **Clear expectations. **A major component of any successful pain management program is the ability to set clear expectations for patients."
