Getting back to a gym routine after taking a break--either because you started a family or began a new career--is great for your health, but it can mean a risk of injury.  The few few weeks of resuming exercise can mean muscle soreness, because the body has to acclimate to the training.   Strength levels increase but the body isn't ready for a high level of exercise, so injuries can and do occur.  In order to prevent injuries, Dr. Horrigan discusses ways continue exercising but avoid injuries.  Simply starting at the begininer's level or just performing one set of very lightweight exercises can help your body prepare for training without causing injury.
