Strange Pain Treatments May Work, But A Doctor Should Still Be Sought

Here at DISC, we’re big proponents of exhausting all non-surgical options first before advising that a patient undergo some type of non-invasive operation to correct the pain.  Typically, these non-surgical options include things like medication, pain management, and targeted exercise.

That said, there are some pain treatment options that are a little more avant-garde, to say the least.  The tips, hailing from Prevention magazine, provide some unexpected insights into curtailing pain.  Swearing and fantasizing about sex are two tips on offer, as is going through spiritual rituals and taking in art.  They also point to research that suggests smelling a green apple can ward off pain.
