Dr. John Ross Burge is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon and hip and knee
reconstruction specialist who cares for patients with advanced arthritis, joint degeneration, and failed or painful prior replacements. He offers the full spectrum of modern joint reconstruction, including robotic-assisted and computer-navigation joint replacement, revision hip and knee reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, partial knee replacement, and both anterior and posterior hip approaches, with the goal of relieving pain and getting patients back to the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Burge completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Community Memorial Health System in Ventura, California, where he served as Chief Resident and held leadership roles on orthopedic, graduate medical education, and research committees. He then completed a dedicated joint arthroplasty fellowship at USC Keck Medical Center, gaining advanced expertise in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement, and he is trained on leading robotic platforms such as MAKO and Zimmer ROSA for highly precise implant positioning.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Burge has authored peer-reviewed research on topics such as infection risk after total knee arthroplasty and functional outcomes after meniscus procedures and has presented his work at regional and national meetings. He has also participated in international medical mission work and local sports event coverage, reflecting his commitment to both global and community health.
Personal Interests
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family, staying active through fitness and organized sports, playing guitar, and reading fiction novels.
