With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Jeswani was selected as one of San Diego's Top Doctors for 2024 and has performed over 2,000 neurosurgical procedures.
Dr. Jeswani is a neurosurgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of conditions affecting the brain, skull base, spinal cord, spine, and peripheral nerves. He earned dual degrees in computer science and molecular biology from the University of Michigan, graduating with University Honors.
He later pursued graduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his research focused on applying machine learning algorithms to neuro-engineering challenges. Dr. Jeswani went on to receive his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received the Charles and Ann Pofreika Award for academic excellence.
Dr. Jeswani completed his neurosurgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center—one of the top-ranked hospitals in the nation—where he participated in over 2,000 surgical procedures. During his training, he scored above the 90th percentile on the neurosurgery written board exam and received several honors, including the Leo G. Rigler Award for outstanding resident achievement and the Moise Danielpour Academic Achievement Award. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of Southern California.
He previously held a faculty position at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery. In this role, he played an integral part in the training and mentorship of neurosurgery residents and fellows. His academic contributions include numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and research presentations at national conferences. Beyond his academic endeavors, he has also taken part in international outreach missions focused on neurological and spinal surgery, where he provided both surgical care and education to international trainees.
Dr. Jeswani is committed to surgical excellence and delivering the best possible outcomes for his patients. He is highly respected by his peers for both his meticulous surgical technique and the compassionate, thoughtful care he provides. He has been honored as Physician of the Year at Palomar Medical Center for two consecutive years and currently holds leadership roles in neurosurgery across several hospitals in San Diego County.
His clinical interests include neurosurgical oncology, skull base surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, spinal oncology, spinal deformity, and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He maintains an active research interest in the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to predict and augment surgical outcomes.
