Dr. Vanessa G. Cuéllar is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in disorders of the hand and wrist. She combines the principles of traditional Western medicine with an integrative, holistic approach to patient care, treating both children and adults. Dr. Cuéllar sees patients in Jupiter and Palm Beach, Florida, and is on staff at Jupiter Medical Center.
Dr. Cuéllar earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she completed an honors thesis in the laboratory of Dr. Jeffrey H. Miller. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine from Stanford University School of Medicine before completing her Orthopaedic Surgery residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York.
Research. Recognition. Results.
During her residency, Dr. Cuéllar was awarded a year-long research fellowship focused on molecular biomarkers of joint disease and pathology. Her work explored the underlying molecular mechanisms responsible for joint pain and degeneration, particularly in post-traumatic osteoarthritis.
She then completed a prestigious Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine of USC under the mentorship of renowned hand surgeon Dr. Milan Stevanovic. Dr. Cuéllar specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of upper extremity conditions, with particular expertise in wrist disorders, peripheral nerve conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome, and pediatric hand and wrist disorders.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Cuéllar has an extensive background in medical research. While at Stanford, she pursued advanced research in non-viral gene therapy within the Department of Genetics. She also collaborated on pioneering research that contributed to the founding of Cytonics Corporation, a biotechnology company focused on developing therapies utilizing Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M), an anti-inflammatory protein designed to slow cartilage degeneration and treat osteoarthritis through APIC injections.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Cuéllar holds a Master's Degree in Art History with a concentration in the Spanish Baroque period. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Bulgarian, allowing her to connect with patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
