A new report looks at the burgeoning fitness app industry. As more and more people gain access to Smartphones, they’re also using those phones to download and put into action systems that track any number of fitness and lifestyle metrics. The research in question, which hails from Flurry, found the industry growing by a whopping 62% in terms of usage in the last six months alone. 62% of the individuals putting these apps to use were women, with people between 25 and 47 being the most common users. Interestingly, fans of sports were the most likely to use these apps.
There’s a lot of potential for this industry to help individuals get the fitness they need for good health. Remember, though, that usage should also go hand in hand with advice from a trainer or a healthcare professional.
