The DISC Patient Journey: Day of Surgery

In the second installment of The DISC Patient Journey, we take a close look at Jeff's ADR procedure.

Dr. Russell S. Montgomery performed the incision. Afterward, Dr. Montgomery cleared a path to the patient's spine by carefully moving the patient's intestines out of the way. Once Dr. Montgomery made the patient's spine accessible, Drs. Robert Bray and Neel Shah got to work. First, the two spine doctors removed the patient's dysfunctional disc. Once the faulty disc was clear, Drs. Bray and Shah meticulously placed an Artificial Disc in the gap between vertebrae. Throughout the procedure, the doctors reviewed x-ray images in real-time to confirm the surgery was progressing perfectly.

Watch the surgery in the video below. Please note: the following video shows the entire surgery and therefore may not be suitable for all audiences.

In the coming weeks, we'll share the last installment of Jeff's Patient Journey at DISC, his recovery. Experience the first installment of Jeff's Patient Journey here.
