June 4 was National Running Day, which can be as good of a day as any for people hoping to kickstart their fitness. Timed to that event, a report in Business Insider took a look at some of those things that a person can do if they’re attempting to get through an entire marathon for the first time.
First, and perhaps more importantly, an individual must be willing to allot a sufficient amount of space within their schedule to get ready for the event. This isn’t one mile or five miles: it’s 26 miles in a race that proves taxing to even skilled runners. Six months will be ideal, and you’ll have to be committed to training during that time.
