Soccer Injuries The Focus Of New Book

A new report out of New York takes a look at the insights on hand from a recently released book called “Soccer Injury Prevention and Treatment.”  As you might guess, the title pretty much speaks for itself, highlighting some of the typical injuries confronting soccer players and advising players and coaches on how to avoid damage in those regards.  Not surprisingly, ACL tears are one point of emphasis of the report and the book, as are concussions, the likelihood of which is increased when players are enthusiastic about going up for headers without worrying about the consequences.  Attention is also placed on taking the time to recover from an injury rather than jumping the gun and putting a player out on the field before he or she is ready.
