Dr. Bray’s commitment to forward-thinking medicine has resulted in the full, safer and faster recoveries of such top athletes as Hurdling’s Lolo Jones, MotoX’s Robbie Maddison and Big Wave Surfing’s Ian Walsh. To date, he has performed more than 10,000 successful surgeries, with a 95% focus on outpatient procedures, in stark contrast to the nation’s 20% average.

When surgery is necessary, Dr. Mir employs advanced microscopic technology with proven efficacy to produce the most optimal results. He also emphasizes education throughout the process of each case, actively involving his patients in their treatment plans and recovery.

Dr. Mir received his BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, graduating magna cum laude with Distinction in Biology. After attending the State University of New York Health Science Center’s School of Medicine, he graduated cum laude and was elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society. He then attended orthopedic surgery residency at University of Illinois at Chicago, where he gained extensive training in treating spinal conditions such as complex spinal deformity and scoliosis, including childhood scoliosis, at the Shriners Hospital. He was also awarded the prestigious Christopher Pavlides Award for “Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery.” Dr. Mir completed a fellowship in complex spine surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in 2004, and was selected to receive the DePuy Spine Award: “Dedicated to Advancement of Spinal Sciences.”

Furthering this commitment to advance spinal care, Dr. Mir has conducted extensive research, producing multiple abstracts and national presentations including posterior cervical fusion techniques at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. His authored chapters include “Anterior Cervical System,” “Surgical Techniques in Spinal Instrumentation,” “The Unconstrained Implant,” and “Non-Fusion Techniques for the Spine.”

Dr. Mir is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Scoliosis Research Society and California Orthopaedic Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Mir enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is an avid tennis player, who also enjoys water sports, practices yoga and plays the piano.
